Conventional preheating systems that used a petrol tank and drum vaporizer have the following disadvantages:
They need a longer preheating time. 12 minutes for 60Kg and 10 minutes for 52Kg rails. This requires longer block periods.
The width of the heat affected zones is wider.
Due to manual operation the preheating process is not uniform.
In view of the above issues, we developed a fully mechanized compressed air petrol preheating system driven by an engine. This allows the preheating of rail ends to be performed uniformly. Even the preheating time has been reduced by about 8 minutes thereby reducing the block time. The width of the heat affected zone is narrower as well.
